Dear Teachers,
The French Programme within the Department of Arts and Languages in Education, Faculty of Education, will be organizing an activity to mark the occasion of the Semaine de la Francophonie 2012.
This year we were thinking of involving your students by asking them to produce an artistic picture, which may be of any art form as long as it may be hung to be displayed: beautiful photos, collages, paintings, sketches, parċmina ... The exhibition will take place within the framework of a competition, Images du monde francophone, on the 20th March, during school hours, at the Foyer, Sir Temi Zammit Theatre, University of Malta. Teachers of French are invited to bring learner groups /classes to see the exhibition and interact with our University B.Ed. students, whether their learners have participated in the exhibition or not. The students will vote for the best works presented. The winners will receive beautiful book prizes kindly offered by the French Embassy’s Service de Coopération et d’Action Culturelle and their schools will be rewarded too.
As regards the themes for the artistic pictures (the size is up to the participants), we would like them to be about famous monuments / natural spots of the francophone world, not necessarily France. Below are some ideas; we are of course more familiar with Parisian monuments, but it might be worthwhile for the learners to look up photos of other monuments / spots and reproduce them. The more variety there is, the more interesting the exhibition will be!
